Meet the residents

Say hello...

In September we welcomed eleven new residents to our community. These young adults will be serving the mission of local churches, charities and organisations. Studying with New Wine, iCYM and St Mellitus. Sharing community rhythms and exploring a rule of life together.

Tayo

"Hey everyone. My name is Tayo and I’m a second year intern at IMPRINT Church Leicester. I’m currently serving within the Outreach team, as well as anywhere else I might be needed.

What am I looking forward to this year? Simply just to see more of God in my life and in the City of Leicester, “On Earth as it is in Heaven” right?"

Tom

Hi! My name is Tom and I’m doing my New Wine Discipleship Year placement at St John the Baptist in Clarendon Park, whilst living at the Community. I really want to use this year to ground my faith and get experience in service. I decided not to go to university right away but instead take a year to focus on God and the kingdom. Also I’m interested in medieval re-enactment!

Lucy

Hello I'm Lucy. Last year I did New Wine DY and this year I am continuing a 2nd year placement with Holy Trinity, Leicester. I'm helping with their social media and running Alpha. This year I'm looking forward to learning more about God, gaining good rhythms of prayer to strengthen the foundations of my life. I love being creative and am excited to see where God takes me with the gifts he has given me. 🖌️🧶🎨📷

Hi! I’m Ayo. I’m doing the New Wine discipleship year at IMPRINT Church Leicester. I’m involved in small groups as well as the men’s ministry.

I really hope to grow in abiding in God this year. I also hope to grow in my Creative skills and talents as I use them in worship to God.

Anna

I have just moved to Leicester from Bristol having finished a masters in English Literature. I am doing an internship with the Community of the Tree of Life, exploring new monastic rhythms and rules of life, and drawing on those practises as I go out into placements in the wider community. I am passionate about social justice and interested in how people build communities centred around care and fighting injustice.

Tim

Hi, I'm Tim! I'm doing the New wine Discipleship Year and my placement is at Church of the Martyrs. In this placement, I get to do a little bit of everything such as kids and youth work, media, worship etc. Also, I get to work in different charity projects involved with the Church which is diverse such as "baby basics", "money matters" and "soundcafé". It's a privilege to have the time and ability to support vulnerable people, as well as explore and develop the gifts God has given me.

Yash

I am doing the New Wine discipleship year at St John the Baptist Church at Clarendon Park. I especially love being involved in compassion ministries. I hope to grow in faith, learn what it means to be rooted in Christ and learn to listen to and obey God.

Fun fact: I can touch my nose with my tongue - very handy when you have a runny nose while cycling.

Tizian

My name is Tizian, I am 21 years old and I come from Germany. I am studying Social Work / RE at CVJM Hochschule in Kassel. I am doing a practical placement at Holy Trinity, Leicester. I am very passionate about various things like art, music or gaming. I am looking forward to see what God will allow me to learn and contribute. I am glad and thankful that I have the opportunity to be here and I hope I can make the most out of these next six months.

Hey everyone. This year I’m doing an internship at Holy Apostles where I support sound and technology. I am passionate about Evangelism, and I'd love to go across the globe wherever God leads me to share the Gospel and win people to Christ. This year l’m looking forward to growing in my faith and to discern God’s will in my life.

Vee

I am in my last of CYM doing a BA in contextual ministry and practical theology. As well as living here, my BA placement is with the Community of the Tree of Life. During my year here, I want to get to know God more as well as learn new ways of worship. I am so excited to see what God has in store for me for my last year and for the rest of my own life.

Goda

I am in second year at the institute of Children, Youth & Mission, I am studying a youth ministry degree! My placement is with Emmanuel, Loughborough, and I've been so blessed that I am able to be there for the whole 3 years of my BA! For this year, I want to carry on growing in God, he's already done so much more than I could ever imagine, my aim is to evangelise more to people around me and to the young people! Evangelism is an important aspect of my Christian walk.

Josie

Woof! I'm Josie. I'm a relentlessly bouncy golden retriever who has a tendency to shred anything the Prior leaves lying around. I love walks with the residents and chewing on socks and scripture.
