Contemplative Year Out

Are you a contemplative explorer looking for a challenging year out..?

…hungry for more of God?
…seeking to discover your deepest vocation?
…ready to give your life to serve God’s Kingdom purposes?

Join us for a year of transformation.

The Community of the Tree of Life is a House of Prayer and residential new monastic community situated in the heart of Leicester, with the Bishop of Leicester as its Abbot. Share life with a diverse community of other committed Christians and explore the ancient monastic rhythms of prayer, study and service.

You’ll be stretched by serving in social action projects with some of the most vulnerable in our city.

You’ll be challenged as you engage in mission with a local parish church.

You’ll be deepened as you learn to face yourself in community and in the silence of solitude.

You’ll be enlarged as you learn to think Biblically and reflect theologically.

Our newly renovated Community House stands on the site where the Franciscan Grey Friars once lived. 500 years since their Friary was destroyed, God is rebuilding their ancient house of prayer to bring blessing to the city once again.

We are seeking 14 young adults (aged 20-35) to join us in the adventure of our first year from September 2019 to July 2020.
