Prayer Drumming

PRAYER AS PROTEST ??

‘If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves’ – Romans 8:26

Prayer is protest. It’s the act of standing in the gap for the sake of someone else. It’s refusing to be silent when it seems God is on mute. We choose to pick a fight with injustice and recall the stories of what God has already done for us.

Sometimes we don’t know how to pray. Praying for massive justice issues, complicated circumstances and international crisis can feel like an impossible task.

Try picking up some sticks and making some Holy noise! Don’t stay silent. Harness the God-given urge within you – bang a drum (as loud as you like) for Gods peace, justice and breakthrough.
