Say hello to...

Jess

I'm Jess and I’m from Nottingham. Before this year I was studying criminology at De Montfort University Leicester for three years. This year I will be doing Compassion Ministry at Holy Trinity Leicester and I have a heart for people affected by modern-day slavery.

I am most looking forward to learning how to serve in the Compassion Ministry that will be shaping the church into more of what is written in Luke 4:14-30: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’

Megan

I’m Megan. I’m 23 and have lived in Leicester all my life. I previously worked full-time at the University of Leicester Medical School as a Programme Administrator. I love listening to Christian music and it is a significant part of my worship.

This year I will be working at St Luke’s Church in Thurnby, mainly focusing on children and youth ministry. I hope to gain the skills to disciple more effectively to both Christians and non-Christians. By embedding myself into a wide range of church life activities I aspire to significantly develop my faith.

Wisdom

My name is Wisdom. I am from Nigeria. I have worked with others in Christian groups, non-governmental organizations, social service organizations, and charity foundations like the Nigerian Christian Corpers' Fellowship (NCCF), the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and the Road Safety Club. In the quest to better the lives of others and those around me, I have made a positive impact on my own life by involving in community development services, classroom teaching, poverty alleviation campaigns, human rights campaigns, environment, diversity, and religious work, as well as caregiving and health support activities for the elderly, frail people, and those in need in my community.

This year, I'm joining The Community of The Tree of Life, where I'll develop my God-given leadership skills, further explore my God-given gifts, and take part in more social action initiatives in Leicester. I am looking forward to the chance to live in community, grow in my faith, and discover my own calling through involvement in study, service, and community life is what I am most looking forward to this year.

Isadora

Hi, I’m Isadora but you can call me Isa. I’m from Brazil. Before moving to Leicester I was studying Health and Social Care in London. This year I will be working with kids and youth at Holy Trinity Leicester. This year I am looking forward to developing myself in specific areas, growing in love for people and going deeper in my relationship with God.

Alexandre

Hey, my name it’s Alexandre but everybody calls me Ale. I’m Brazilian, loud and proud! I used to work with advertising, planning and strategy for brands' communications and identity. This year I’m working with young adults and social media at Holy Trinity Leicester and definitely looking forward to meeting a lot of people and just seeing what God will do here in Leicester.

Eloise

Hi I’m Eloise, I’m from Kent and have just finished my A-levels. I have also been involved in children’s work at my home church for the past 5 years.

This year I am working at St John the Baptist Church doing Children, Youth and Families Work. This year I am most looking forward to helping with all of the different groups and growing my relationship with God.

Jack

My name is Jack and I'm a second year at the Community! This year I'm a Ministry Apprentice at Holy Trinity Leicester, working with our Students. This is continuing my role from last year as the New Wine Discipleship Year student intern at HTL.

This year I'm really excited to see how God is going to move in HTL Students, the Tree of Life, and in Leicester as a whole! I want to see people fall more in love with the endless immensity of God, and for them to understand and experience God's love for them more deeply.

Joshua

I'm Josh, I am from Enfield, North London. Before this year I was studying Business entrepreneurship and innovation
at De Montfort University. This year, I am the Community Lead at Imprint Church. This entails encouraging our leaders in different departments to form genuine friendships with people who attend our church.

I am looking forward to meeting people from different backgrounds and making new friendships. I think this is important for me because I want to work in the creative industry. If I can learn to understand people here it will help me emotional intelligence and general people skills. Which will help me with sharing and being gospel in certain industries where people need it most.
