What's next for our 2020/21 residents?

We asked all our residents; what are you doing in September?
And, what have you learned about yourself and God this year?

Ayo

In September, I will be going to study the legal practice course to qualify as a lawyer.

This year I have learnt what it means to live at rest in God and to let every aspect of my life flow from that.

Srini

In September, I am joining Holy Trinity Leicester, as an Assistant Minister, focusing on evangelism.

This year I have grown in my walk with God, and have learned to hear His voice more clearly. Despite of lots of ‘ups and downs’, I have learned how to stand strong in those times with God.

In September, I am going to be starting a new job as a care worker in a residential children’s home, specialising in children who have been through trauma and mental health.

This year I have learnt, no matter how hard life can be - God is with you. No dream is impossible with God in the picture. I have grown in confidence, valuing time with people and self-reflection. The community has given me space to grow, and helped me to graduate from university.

In September, I am moving to Manchester to ‘feel out’ Gods call. I hope to trust God unfailingly.

This year I have learnt you should not expect to be ‘perfect’, just because you work in Church Ministry. I have grown in wisdom and learnt how God talks to me. God has opened my eyes to the vast ways He connects with us.

In September, I am starting a Masters in Marketing Management.

This year I have learnt that God’s Grace is sufficient. I have grown in my patience concerning my spiritual growth

In September, I will be heading back to university to do teacher training- it is something I have always wanted to do and now feel ready to complete.

This year I have learnt God can use us in whatever way, wherever! I have learnt more about myself and my relationship with God, through spending time in prayer, talking with others and reading some life changing books!

In September, I am studying Photography at Nottingham Trent University!

This year I have grown in my understanding of the spiritual discipline of service and how it affects everything, we do.

In September, I start my final year of study with CYM.

This year, I have learned to really trust God, appreciate what he has for us, and take time to reflect and time for myself. Having time off work or placement is important, as we often burn ourselves out without even realising. Breathe, trust God and take one day at a time!

In September, I am going to university in the US to study Maths.

This year I have learnt that not all things go how you want them to, but God sees us through all things - all things good and all things difficult.

Tizian

In September, I am starting my seventh semester at University in Kassel, Germany, which consists of interesting modules that I could choose myself.

This year I have learnt more about my personal relationship with God, how it shows itself for me personally, and it is okay not to express it like everybody else around you. I now have a more diverse understanding of different ways of living in faith and I have gained a more relaxed security in God in my everyday life.

Anna

In September, I will be staying at The Community of the Tree of Life and working part time as Digital Evangelist with The Lay Community of Saint Benedict.

This year has broadened my understanding of who God, Jesus and the Spirit are, and has given me space to respond to and explore these new discoveries. Experimenting with contemplative practises and regular rhythms of prayer has enriched my life and shown me just how much God desires to be near us.

Woof! In September, I will am looking forward to making some new friends with the new residents.

This year I have learnt that facemasks are difficult to digest!
